Srinagar, Sept 18, KDC: Days after the Jammu and Kashmir Government ordered deputation of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who also holds the Tourism portfolio, to lead an official delegation to the IFTM Top Resa Tourism Fair in Paris, reliable sources have indicated that both Omar and his Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani are likely to skip the visit scheduled for September 23–25.
As per the earlier government order, the delegation comprised Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani and Director Tourism Jammu Vikas Gupta, with the expenditure to be met by the Tourism Department. The event, considered a key international platform for tourism promotion, was expected to showcase J&K’s potential before global stakeholders.
However, sources told KDC that both Omar Abdullah and Nasir Aslam Wani may not be travelling to Paris next week. The reasons for their likely absence were not immediately known. (KDC)
