Srinagar, Oct. 4, KDC: Budgam Police have recovered a bag containing medicines and eatables from the vicinity of Palmaidan in Doodhpathri, where Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Hashim Moosa was killed in an encounter with security forces on September 29, officials said on Sunday.
According to police, the recovery was made as part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the presence of the slain terrorist in the area.
“Budgam Police have recovered a bag containing medicines and eatables from the vicinity of Palmaidan, Doodhpathri, where top LeT commander Hashim Moosa was killed in an exchange of fire with the security forces,” police said in a statement to Kashmir Dot Com.
Police said the recovered items are suspected to have been intended for the use of the slain terrorist, adding that the recovery could provide leads into the logistical support available to him while he was operating in the area.
The police said the investigation is examining the origin of the consignment, the circumstances in which the bag was placed at the location and the possible involvement of overground workers, co-conspirators and other accomplices.
“Further investigation is underway to identify and establish the role of all individuals associated with the suspected logistical support network,” police said.
The recovery is being examined in connection with the September 29 encounter, which followed coordinated action by security forces based on intelligence inputs.
Police said the investigation is being carried out under FIR No. 181/2026 of Police Station Khansahib and is aimed at uncovering the wider support network allegedly facilitating the movement and sustenance of terrorists in the area.
“All relevant aspects of the recovery are being investigated,” police said, adding that further action would follow based on the findings of the probe.
The investigation remains underway. (KDC)
