Srinagar, Oct 8, KDC: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has amended the delegation of financial powers for according administrative approval, technical sanction and awarding contracts, authorising the Secretaries (Technical) of the Jal Shakti Department (JSD) and Power Development Department (PDD) in the relevant categories.
The Finance Department’s Codes Division issued the notification under Section 67 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, amending the provisions notified through S.O-15 dated January 9, 2020.
According to the notification, issued with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor, new entries have been added under Table C, relating to the power to sanction/award contracts against Serial Nos. 4 and 5.
The amendments provide for the inclusion of Secretary (Technical), JSD and Secretary (Technical), PDD alongside the existing entries against the respective categories.
The notification was issued by Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Finance Department, Shailendra Kumar, on behalf of the Lieutenant Governor.
The amendment is aimed at updating the delegation of financial powers concerning contract sanctioning and awarding within the two departments.
