Srinagar, May 19: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday met a delegation led by Vijaya Rahatkar at Lok Bhavan in Srinagar, where discussions centred on women’s empowerment, safety and welfare measures.
The delegation included Chairpersons of several State Women Commissions, who held deliberations with the Lieutenant Governor on strengthening institutional support systems for women and enhancing their role in socio-economic development.
During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor acknowledged the contribution of the National Commission for Women in promoting women’s rights and improving access to justice for women across the country.
The interaction also focused on ongoing and future initiatives aimed at increasing women’s participation in developmental activities and addressing issues concerning their security and well-being, officials said.
