Srinagar, Feb 20: Acting on specific intelligence, the Food Safety Enforcement Drug and Food Control Organisation on Thursday carried out a targeted inspection in the Abanshah area of HMT and seized approximately 725 kilograms of honey found stored without “statutory labeling”, in violation of the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSS Act), officials said.
They said the seized stock lacked mandatory labeling details, including product name, net quantity, date of packing/manufacturing, best before/expiry date, name and address of the manufacturer or packer, FSSAI license number, and storage instructions.
