Jammu, Nov 10: The All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Secretaries Association (Jammu Province) on Monday condemned the alleged assault on the Block Development Officer (BDO) Nagrota and a Panchayat Secretary by the SDPO Gandhi Nagar.
In protest, the Association announced a two-day pen-down strike across all districts of Jammu Province, during which Panchayat Secretaries will abstain from official duties.
The Association demanded the immediate suspension of the SDPO Gandhi Nagar, registration of an FIR against him, and withdrawal of the FIR lodged against the BDO Nagrota.
It also stressed the need to ensure the safety and dignity of officers performing their official responsibilities. The strike may be extended if the demands remain unmet; however, Panchayat Secretaries on election duty in the Nagrota constituency have been asked to continue work without disruption.
