Srinagar, June 18, KDC: Two Kashmiri students sustained injuries after an Israeli airstrike hit the Hujat Dost Ali Hostel in Tehran. Both students were wounded by shrapnel—one suffered an injury to his hand, while the other sustained injuries to both his hand and leg. They are currently reported to be in stable condition, though visibly shaken and traumatised by the incident.
The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association, according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com has raised an urgent appeal to External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, seeking immediate intervention to relocate the injured students to safer locations and ensure their swift evacuation from Iran.
Despite the ongoing conflict and the students’ condition, the Association said that no steps have yet been taken to move them from the affected area.
“We urge the MEA to prioritise their safety and arrange their evacuation without delay,” the Association stated on social media platform X, while sharing images of the students’ injuries.
The appeal comes amid Operation Sindhu, India’s broader evacuation effort launched in response to escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel.
