Srinagar: Member Parliament and Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) Chief, Engineer Rashid, currently lodged in Tihar Jail, has, according to his partymen, decried ‘ill-treatment’ meted out to him, forcing him to undergo a hunger strike from tomorrow inside Tihar jail.

Informing about the decision of party supremo at a press conference here on Thursday, a party leader said that Er. Rashid will go on hunger strike from tomorrow in the jail premises to protest the alleged atrocities committed against him.

The party has said that they would join the party Chief for the hunger strike, and have in the meantime welcomed public participation in the move.

Notably, the decision comes shortly after Delhi High Court, listed on February 4, 2025, Er. Rashid’s please to seek interim bail or alternatively parole to attend upcoming budget session.
