Bandipora, Feb 05, KDC: SDPO Hajan Latief khan along with SHO Hajin chaired a meeting at Police Station Hajin with the awqaaf committee and other senior citizens under the civic action programme of JK police to reach out to the public.
The main agenda discussed in the brief interaction with the public representatives included the increasing drug menace and other antisocial and anti-national activities.
SDPO informed the public representatives about the role of JK police in tackling the ever increasing drug menace and other social evils .Members of the awqaaf committee were advised to tie up with the concerned officers to tackle the growing drug menace so that the youth of the area will be protected from the negative effects of this menace.
The members of the awqaaf committee were also instructed to put their best efforts to educate and aware the youth regarding the bad effects of drug menace.
In addition the attendees were briefed about the ill effects of illegal encroachments and sand extraction alongside river jehlum can cause severe effects during rainy season accordingly were briefed to keep an eye on the miscreants as well as aware general public regarding its ill effects.
Furthermore SDPO assured the attendees that JK police is always at your service and they free to attend this PS for any kind of assistance whenever needed.
