SRINAGAR, Dec 14, KDC: Apni Party Chief Spokesperson and Mentor Kupwara-Baramulla districts Javid Hassan Baig on Tuesday strongly condemned the assault on former MLA and Party District President Baramulla Shoaib Lone by a police official at his house in Sopore-Baramulla.
Terming the incident as highly reprehensible, Baig as per news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) these reckless acts often create a wedge between the police and the politicians who currently are putting their unwavering efforts to work for the betterment of people.
“Such absolutist & hegemonic attitude of certain officials is against the integrity of our police force. Our colleague Shoaib Lone along with his wife is presently in a deep shock for the unethical and belligerent approach adopted by this official who even had ordered to break down the door of his house. Thereafter, he along with his men assaulted both of them due to Shoaib Sahib’s wife sustaining a fracture in her finger. Such actions must not be tolerated,” Baig observed.
He demanded that a stringent action must be taken against this erring office so that no one is allowed to misuse the power entrusted to the police whose duty is to safeguard the lives and properties of the people.
“On behalf of Apni Party leadership, I seek a thorough investigation in this matter of utmost concern and demand strict action against the officials found involved in it who try to malign the image of police in the public,” he said. (KDC)
