Srinagar, May 04, KDC: A foreign militant involved in the killing of two councilors and a policeman is trapped in an intense gun battle that broke out between militants and security forces in Nathipora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday afternoon.
According to News Agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC), in a tweet IGP Kashmir zone Vijay Kumar has informed that the foreign militant involved in the killing of two councilors and a policeman at Sopore on March 29 this year is trapped in the ongoing encounter.
Earlier, reports reaching KDC that a joint team of SOG, Army’s 22 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Nathipora.
As the joint team of forces encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
A senior police officer also confirmed to KDC about exchange of firing between militants and security forces. (KDC)
