Srinagar, Mar 17, KDC: Department of Rural Sanitation on Wednesday started a four day workshop on “solid liquid waste management”.
According to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) the function was presided over by Director Rural Sanitation J&K, Tariq Ahmad Ganie, Bilal Mukhtar ACD Srinagar/ Ganderbal and Aijaz Ahmad Shah, Deputy Director Rural Sanitation.
Large number of other officers attended the workshop which included DPOs of Kashmir Division, Executive Engineers of RDD Kashmir besides PRIs of various Districts.
In his inaugural speech, Tariq Ahmad Ganie, Director Rural Sanitation welcomed the participants and enlightened the participants about benefits of such workshops which ultimately will pave the way for plastic free society and scientific disposal of plastic wastes.
Bilal Mukhtar, ACD Srinagar/ Ganderbal while speaking on the occasion threw light on various aspects of the workshop. He briefed the participants about management of the programme and how different categories of participants will extend the benefits of such training to the grass root level.
The workshop will continue for four days which will also cover the field visit. (KDC)
