New Delhi, Dec 23, KDC: BJP leader and deputy in-charge of the party for Jammu and Kashmir Ashish Sood on Wednesday said that the Valley is no longer the political fiefdom of Gupkar gang.
“The members of Gupkar gang were expecting an absolute polarization of the people of the Valley in their favour in the District Development Council (DDC) polls, but in vain. People of the Valley have put their stamp on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s landmark decision to scrap Article 370, which is amply reflected in the victory of a sizable number of independent candidates – 50. In Kashmir, the BJP too won three seats contrary to the expectations of the Gupkar gang members and has polled a good number of votes in all,” said Sood in a statement to news agency Kashmir Dot Com.
He said that the show of independents and the BJP only points to the people’s disenchantment with disgusting anti-India narratives of the Gupkar gang, which has just registered the proverbial Pyrrhic victory.
“The real winner is India, Indian ethos, values and the decision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to completely integrate Jammu and Kashmir into India, which was on hold due to those who had converted the region into their political fiefdom by promoting cult worship in their nefarious pursuit to exploit innocent people and resources meant for the locals,” he added.
”The BJP leader said that the wind of change makes people’s intent clear that they are strongly aligned to our Constitution, our democracy and our India, while those who stitched the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) by trying to foment anti-India, anti-Constitution sentiments stand exposed. Had they fought the election individually, they would have been decimated. The Gupkar gang has managed to bag 112 seats, but the BJP on its own has won 75 seats, which reflects people’s faith in the words and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi”, reads the statement.
“In fact, Gupkar gang leaders were exposed from the day one when the schedule for the first ever DDC poll was announced, which were held in eight phases. Instead of working hard to mitigate the Valley people’s woes and hardships and improve their ease of life, taking the benefits of welfare schemes to them, the Gupkar gang members indulged in spreading canard and falsehood, shedding crocodile tears just to mislead the people as usual in which they could not succeed and nor they will ever succeed in the future. People of Jammu and Kashmir have shown their faith in Indian democracy, Constitution and the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” added Sood. (KDC)
