Srinagar, July 30, KDC: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday identified the newly recruited militant affliated with Jaish-i-Muhammad oufit as a resident of north Kashmir’s Kupwara, who was killed today during a gunfight in Baramulla.
A police officer told KDC that the killed militant has been identified as Akhtar Hussain Bhat Alias Abid Bhai son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat resident of Trich Kupwara. He was missing since 16th July this year from his residence, he said.
Earlier today an encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Wanigam Bala area of Baramulla.
In the gunfight one militant was killed, while as two army troopers and a cop was also injured.
A caser under relevant section of law has been registered and further investigation has been set into motion. (KDC)
