Baba Farid University Postpones Exam: J&K Students Association Expresses Gratitude to Punjab CM, his Advisor

Welcomes postponement of Medical exams, Says a great relief for students and their parents

Srinagar, May 21, KDC: J&K Students Association here today expressed gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder, his Advisor Raveen Thukral for their personal and immediate intervention in resolving issue of students studying in Baba Farid University and it’s affiliated Colleges. In a Statement issued spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami said the Students were in great dilemma because of the unfair decision of the university to conduct offline examinations, despite prevailing situation. Parents were not reluctant to their wards to exam halls.

He said that, association appreciated prompt and quick response from Punjab Chief Minister and his Advisor Raveen Thukral, adding that they have paid its valuable attention towards the students, especially students of J&K. He said that J&K students will have a sigh of relief in these testing times. Association took the matter with Punjab Chief Minister in this regard, he has personally intervened in it and resolved the matter at the earliest possible time, he said.

Khuehami said, we welcome the decision of Baba Farid university for considering students’ demand as first priority. He said that, the decision is totally in favour of students. In the tough times, this decision is a welcome and appreciable step. This will free students from anxiety depression and rejoice parents, he added.

State Coordinator of Punjab Aasif Amin also welcomed the Punjab Govt decision to postpone the Medical exams of Baba Farid University amid the COVID-19 pandemic and called it a “great relief” for thousands of students and their parents. He said that students studying in Punjab had a sigh of relief after their exams were postponed citing the unprecedented spike in coronavirus cases in the country.

Amin said, J&K students pursuing Medical Courses in Baba Farid university and it’s affilated College in Punjab were in distress amid the major spike in the deadly virus. Amid restrictions in the country fearing of the contract of the virus, students were worried. We had demanded to authorities for either to facilitate students or postpone exams and finally this was made possible, he added.
