Srinagar, 09 May (KDC): Command of the 15 Corps was handed over by outgoing Lt Gen D P Pandey to Lt General Amardeep Singh Aujla at the headquarter of Chinar Corps in summer capital Srinagar on Monday.
During the tenure of Pandey, the statement said that he left no stone unturned to stem the militancy and the violence in the valley, with formulation of strategies and people-friendly approaches.
Interacting with locals and taking part in the religious and cultural activities has been a hallmark of the Pandey’s period in Kashmir, which possibly would be a trait envied upon by his successors, it added.
During his farewell speech, Pandey while praising the beauty of Kashmir left an important message for youth, who have been dragged into the conflict, that “It is time for you (youth) to take charge and sow the seeds of success, love and happiness for the generations of the future”. (KDC)
