Shopian, Mar 13, KDC: A top commander of militant outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad is believed to be trapped in an encounter in Rawalpora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district where exchange of firing is on.
Police sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that Jaish commander Wilayat alias Sajad Afghani, a resident of Rawalpora is reportedly trapped.
He said that searches were launched on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area yesterday.
He added that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight. (KDC)
