Srinagar, Mar 10, KDC: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar in a press conference on Wednesday said that that police have received a tip-off about presence of Lashkar-e-Toiba (TRF) chief Abbas in Chanapora area of Srinagar after which an alert has been sounded.
“We received intelligence inputs about TRF chief Mohd Abbas Sheikh’s presence in Chanapora area of Srinagar. An alert has been sounded and active vigil is being maintained.
Sheikh, a resident of Kaimuh, Kulgam joined the militant organisation in March 2015. The army lists him as an A+ category miltant.
Sources said that Abass has quit Hizbul Mujahideen, and later joined TRF. (KDC)
