Srinagar, Dec 01: International forum for Justice and Human Rights JK chairman Mohammad Ahsan Untoo in his statement said that a report compiled by the activists and members of IFJHRJK from different areas of Jammu Kashmir and alleges that “During the year 2020 one hundred and eighty three (183) encounters took place and 154 people were killed and among them were civilians who were targeted by forces and many were killed in fake encounters.

He said “During these state acts killed persons were denied proper burial and were not handed over to families as the forces took the bodies away with them and were buried without informing the nears and dears in far flung areas of Baramulla and Sonamarg.”

“During these violent encounters forces used chemical weapons and destroyed properties, this is in total disregard of international laws and violation of article 125 (protocol of human rights violation). These war crimes has been reported by international agencies also and IFJHRJK produced clinching evidence to support the claim of chemical weapons use.” He alleges in his statement.

He further alleges that “In the year 2018 three charred bodies were recovered from an encounter site in Bandipora who were killed by using chemical substance.”

United Nations needs to intervene and probe all the innocent killings during these fake encounters and punish those who found guilty, reads his statement.

The state of affairs on human rights front is visible as the most credible and respected organization Amnesty International was not allowed to work in India as they were asked to stop all their operations in India even their bank accounts were seized to make their survival difficult, reads his statement.
