Srinagar, Feb 01, KDC: Sixteen teachers who have been disengaged by a local educational institution here in Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday staged a protest in Srinagar demanding justice.

As per News Agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC), sixteen teachers have been disengaged from their service by the authorities at Muslim educational institute (MEI), located in Pampore.

All the terminated teachers on Monday assembled here at Press Enclave Srinagar and staged a protest demonstration demanding reinstatement.

One of the disengaged teachers while talking to News Agency KDC, said that they were frustrated after not getting their salary for the last several months and instead of addressing their issue authorities at MEI have disengaged all them.

As per the protesting teachers they were continuously holding classes via Zoom App in Covid-19 lockdown and school authorities too have collected more than 90% fee from the students of the institution.

“After collecting 90% fee from students, the authorities despite our repeated pleas did not bother to clear our pending wages. Then we approached LG Grievance cell which infuriated the school authorities and we all 16 teachers were disengaged, “he said.

The disengaged teachers have appealed the LG led administration to look into the matter and redress their grievances as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, highly placed sources told KDC that DC Pulwama Raghav Lankar has taken cognizance of the matter and has constituted an enquiry committee to address the issue.

“Two member enquiry committee of CEO Pulwama and Assistant Labour Commissioner Pulwama has been constituted to address the matter, ” sources added.

Meanwhile, Director School Education Kashmir Mohammad Younus told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that I have informed the management of MIE Pampore to be present here day after tomorrow for their version and will handle the matter appropriately. (KDC)
