SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 16: Islamia College of Science and Commerce (ICS&C), Hawal, Srinagar, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EMLY LABS AI ACADEMY, Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar today, to promote academic collaboration, skill development, and industry-oriented learning opportunities for students.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Hakak, Principal, Islamia College of Science and Commerce, and Monis Khan, CEO, EMLY LABS AI ACADEMY. The collaboration aims to strengthen the relationship between academia and the technology sector, with a particular focus on emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and practical skill development aligned with the evolving needs of the job market.

The partnership is expected to facilitate opportunities for student internships, hands-on training, exposure to industry practices, and capacity-building initiatives. It also reflects the College’s commitment to implementing the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by promoting experiential learning, multidisciplinary education, employability, and the development of industry-relevant competencies among students.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal of Islamia College of Science and Commerce, emphasized the importance of building meaningful partnerships between educational institutions and technology-driven organizations. He stated that such collaborations can help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications, enabling students to develop the skills, confidence, and adaptability required in a rapidly changing technological landscape.

Dr. Abid Hussain Banday, Convener, Internship Programme, emphasized that the initiative would support the College’s efforts to expand internship opportunities, foster innovation, and equip students with relevant skills for future careers. He noted that such partnerships are an important step towards making internships more meaningful, structured, and aligned with the objectives of NEP 2020.

The collaboration marks another step in Islamia College of Science and Commerce’s ongoing efforts to establish institutional partnerships that enhance experiential learning, encourage innovation, and strengthen students’ connections with industry. Through this initiative, the College seeks to nurture a generation of graduates who are academically competent, technologically aware, and better prepared to contribute to the emerging knowledge and innovation-driven economy.
