Baramulla, Sep 29, KDC: After the recent fake court decree case in Baramulla, another alleged case involving fabrication and use of a purported court decree has surfaced in Pattan, with police registering an FIR and launching an investigation into the matter.
According to the FIR registered at Pattan Police Station, a copy of which is in the possession of news agency Kashmir Dot Com, the case has been registered as FIR No. 220/2026 under Sections 337, 340, 341(2) and 61 in connection with allegations of fabrication, forgery and use of purportedly forged judicial documents.
The FIR follows a complaint concerning a purported court decree and other documents which, according to the complaint, were allegedly prepared and used as genuine despite questions over their authenticity.
The complainant alleged that certain documents, including a purported decree and related papers, were submitted and relied upon in connection with a case before the court.
The complaint further alleged that the purported decree did not match the court’s official record and that discrepancies were noticed between the documents presented and the records maintained by the court.
According to the FIR, the matter came to light during an inquiry into the documents, following which the court record, including the relevant files and orders, was examined.
The complaint alleged that the purported decree carried the seal and signatures appearing to be those of judicial authorities but that these did not correspond with the official court record.
It further alleged that the documents appeared to have been fabricated outside the court and subsequently presented as genuine judicial documents.
The FIR also refers to verification of the court record and examination of the documents submitted in the matter. The complainant sought investigation into the alleged fabrication and use of the documents.
The complaint further alleged that the purported judicial documents contained discrepancies in the record, including differences relating to the court’s record and the documents produced before it.
Police have registered the case and initiated investigation into the allegations.
The FIR records allegations that the purported court decree, court seal, signatures and other judicial documents were allegedly fabricated and used as genuine. The allegations are subject to investigation.
Two persons have been arrested in connection with the case, according to sources, as the investigation into the alleged fabrication and use of the purported court documents continues.
The development comes shortly after a similar fake court decree matter surfaced in Baramulla, where the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court had directed that the case be investigated by the Crime Branch Kashmir.
The Pattan case has also raised concerns over the alleged misuse and fabrication of judicial documents and the use of purported court records outside the judicial record. Police are now investigating the circumstances in which the documents were allegedly prepared, submitted and relied upon. (KDC)
