Srinagar, Sep 16, KDC: A Division Bench of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court, headed by Chief Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhisht and comprising Justice Rajnesh Oswal, has stayed the operation of the Single Bench order passed by Justice Sanjay Dhar, which had quashed the termination of Saadut Hussain Pampori from the Jammu & Kashmir Bank, reported news agency Kashmir Dot Com.

The Single Bench, in its judgment dated August 29, 2026, had quashed the July 15, 2024 termination order, holding that the requirements prescribed under Clause 12.29 of the Bank’s Officers Service Manual for dismissal without a departmental inquiry had not been fulfilled. The court had, however, allowed the authorities to proceed afresh after following the prescribed procedure.

Pampori, who joined J&K Bank as a Computer Engineer in 1995, held several senior positions in the Bank and served as Officer on Special Duty to the then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti from 2016 to 2018. He was also given charge as CEO of the Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency (JKeGA).

His termination by J&K Bank in July 2024 followed government advice alleging his involvement in terrorist and anti-national activities. The respondents had relied upon a report of the J&K Police CID and material relating to the alleged #TortureKashmir campaign.

Senior Additional Advocate General Mohsin Qadri appeared on behalf of Jammu & Kashmir Bank and conducted the arguments before the Division Bench. (KDC)
