Srinagar, Sep 1, KDC: The women’s wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party on Tuesday staged a protest at Press Enclave in Srinagar against the hike in electricity bills, raising slogans against the National Conference-led government.

The protesters criticised the government over the rising electricity costs and alleged that people were being burdened with increased power bills despite facing economic hardships.

During the protest, the women protesters raised slogans including, “Nah Mili Bijli, Nah Mila Ration, Bas Mila Toh Sirf Bhashan” (Neither electricity nor ration was provided; all that was given were speeches), targeting the NC government over what they described as its failure to address public concerns.

The protesters demanded immediate relief for consumers and urged the government to reconsider the electricity tariff hike. (KDC)
