Srinagar, Aug 27: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to continue experiencing generally hot and humid weather conditions over the coming days, with brief spells of rain and thundershowers expected at scattered places, according to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar forecast issued on Thursday.
The MeT forecast said that from August 27 to 30, the weather is expected to remain generally hot and humid, with brief spells of rain or thundershowers at scattered places, particularly during the early morning and afternoon hours.
For August 31 and September 1, the forecast predicted “generally hot and humid” conditions, with one or two spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places. Brief intense showers are likely during the early morning and afternoon hours, it said.
From September 2 to 7, the weather is expected to remain generally dry, although brief spells of rain or thundershowers may occur at scattered places during the early morning and afternoon hours.
As per an advisory issued today, the MeT has advised caution, stating that brief intense showers at localised places may trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides during August 31 and September 1.
Meanwhile, farmers have been advised that they may continue harvesting and other farm operations.
