Srinagar, Aug 04, KDC: Budgam Police have stepped up security arrangements across the district ahead of August 5 in view of protest calls issued by various political parties, police sources said.
According to sources, no protest, demonstration, procession, or public gathering will be permitted as competent authority had denied permission for the same. Police have also intensified surveillance at sensitive locations and made adequate security deployments to ensure the maintenance of law and order.
Sources said that anyone attempting to organise or participate in an unauthorised protest in violation of the prescribed regulations will be liable for legal action. The security measures, they added, are aimed at ensuring peace and preventing any disruption to normal public life.
The clarification comes after authorities denied permission for protest calls by various political parties against abrogation of article 370 and 35A. (KDC)
