New Delhi, Jul 23, KDC: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday joined students protesting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, expressing solidarity with their demand for transparent, fair and merit-based examinations.
Addressing the gathering, Mufti, according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com, said the future of the country’s youth cannot be compromised by corruption, incompetence or examination scams. She asserted that students should not be forced to bear the consequences of irregularities in the examination system.
“Our youth will not pay the price for corruption, incompetence and exam scams. Their future is non-negotiable,” Mufti said.
Mufti claimed that cows are “better protected than girls” in the country and warned that India could become an “open jail” like Jammu and Kashmir if the Constitution is not protected. She made the remarks while addressing students protesting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
Calling for strict action against those responsible for alleged examination irregularities, the PDP chief demanded that every individual involved be identified, prosecuted and held fully accountable.
She also stressed that justice for students should not be delayed, saying the integrity of the recruitment and examination process must be protected to safeguard the aspirations of young people. (KDC)
