SRINAGAR, May 24, KDC: Security forces recovered a cache of ammunition from a hideout in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district during a joint search operation, officials said on Sunday.
According to officials, Police, Army and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a search and destroy operation in the Nilsar orchards area of Chandoosa in Baramulla on Saturday following specific information about the presence of a militant hideout.
During the operation, security forces unearthed and recovered 14 rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) and nine boosters from the hideout, officials said.
Police have taken cognisance of the matter and initiated an investigation to ascertain the origin and intended use of the recovered ammunition, officials added.
