Srinagar, May 12, KDC: Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday warned of a looming fuel and gas crisis, saying the region was heading towards “distress and uncertainty” amid rising global tensions and ongoing geopolitical conflicts.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Dr Abdullah said the worsening international situation could severely impact the economy if timely measures were not taken.
“We are going towards a crisis, a fuel crisis, a gas crisis and heading towards destruction,” he said.
He cautioned that if the prevailing situation continues, the consequences for the economy could be unpredictable and serious.
“There is a need to find a way out,” he said, warning that prolonged uncertainty could have severe implications for people and economic stability.
Commenting on alcohol consumption, Dr Abdullah said, “I don’t drink. Those who drink alcohol will drink. If it is not available here, they will bring it from outside.” (KDC)
