Beerwah, Apr 22: An anti-drug awareness rally under the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan was organised in Beerwah on Tuesday by social activist Muzamil Mehmood, with participation from students and members of the local community.
The rally commenced from the Tehsil Office Beerwah and culminated at the Main Bus Stand. Around 500 students from various schools of Zone Beerwah took part in the event.
Members of the Traders Federation, Youth Civil Society, Transport Association, Numberdar and Chowkidar associations, along with officials from the Tehsil Administration, also joined the rally.
Addressing the participants, Muzamil highlighted the need to create awareness among youth about the harmful effects of drug abuse. He said that addressing the issue requires collective efforts from parents, teachers, community members and institutions.
He also stressed the importance of continued awareness programmes and community involvement in preventing drug abuse.
The rally concluded with a message calling for coordinated efforts to promote a drug-free society.
