Srinagar, Mar 2, KDC: Senior Shia leader Imran Reza Ansari on Monday appealed to the Shia youth of Kashmir to observe restraint and maintain discipline while mourning the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In a post on X, Ansari said the community was in “acute shock and unbearable grief” over the martyrdom of the Iranian leader, describing the loss as deeply personal and spiritual. “A part of our body, a part of our soul feels torn away,” he wrote, adding that the pain was being felt by Shias and “all lovers of truth” across the world.
Addressing the youth in particular, Ansari said grief must be expressed with dignity. He urged mourners to hold Majlis, Marsiya, and other gatherings in their local Imam Bargahs and restrict mourning to their respective areas. He cautioned against allowing emotions to be misused or diverted in any manner that could harm the community.
He also called upon people to comply with any notifications issued by the administration, saying discipline was an essential part of azadari.
Ansari further appealed to the Jammu and Kashmir Police to continue exercising maximum restraint, terming their handling of the situation as commendable. He said sensitive policing during such an emotional time would help maintain peace and respect public sentiments.
“Our tears are our protest. Our majlis is our resistance. Let us mourn with unity, patience, and responsibility,” he wrote. (KDC)
