Srinagar, Jan 19, KDC: Senior leader Rouf Bhat has expressed grave concern over the recent release of 3,478 constable posts, alleging serious discrimination and inequality in their division-wise allocation between Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the figures, out of the total posts advertised, Jammu division has been allotted 2,381 posts, while Kashmir division has received only 1,097. Rouf Bhat termed this disparity “deeply unjust and discriminatory,” stating that such an uneven distribution raises serious questions about fairness, equity, and balanced regional representation.
He said the allocation goes against the principles of justice and equality enshrined in democratic governance and warned that persistent neglect of fair representation could further widen regional divides. “Employment opportunities are directly linked to dignity, empowerment, and social stability. Any perceived bias, especially against Kashmir, can fuel resentment and social unrest,” he remarked.
Rouf Bhat noted that unity, justice, and strict adherence to the rule of law are essential for maintaining peace and harmony in society. He urged the authorities to immediately review and rectify the imbalance in constable post allocations to ensure equitable opportunities for youth from all regions.
The senior leader called upon the goverenment to adopt a transparent and region-sensitive approach in recruitment processes, stressing that only fairness and inclusivity can strengthen public trust and promote lasting unity. (KDC)
