Srinagar, Nov 9, KDC: In a sweeping operation against online radical networks, the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Sunday conducted coordinated raids across the Valley, detaining nine suspects, including a woman, and seizing a trove of digital evidence.
A CIK spokesperson told Kashmir Dot Com that the operation was launched “to dismantle online terror modules misusing social media for glorifying terrorism and spreading anti-national propaganda.”
“Acting on credible intelligence, CIK teams carried out simultaneous searches at ten locations across Srinagar, Kulgam, Baramulla, Shopian, and Pulwama,” the spokesperson said, adding that the crackdown “marks a decisive step against the digital network of extremism.”
Officials said several mobile phones, SIM cards, tablets, and other electronic devices were seized during the searches. “The recovered material will undergo forensic examination to identify handlers and trace online communication patterns,” they said.
“CIK’s action underscores its commitment to safeguard Kashmir’s youth from the influence of Pakistan-backed handlers and violent extremism,” the spokesperson said. “More raids and detentions are expected as part of our ongoing efforts to secure peace and stability in the Valley.” (KDC)
