Budgam, October 28: Continuing its efforts to curb the drug menace, Budgam Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances in the Qazibagh area of Budgam.
Acting on specific information, a police party from Police Station Budgam, led by PSI Ashiq Hussain, established a checkpoint near Girls Middle School Qazibagh. Two suspects tried to flee upon noticing the police but were swiftly apprehended.
During their personal search, Charas-like substances was recovered. The accused were identified as Anees Bashir Dar, son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, resident of Zorigund and Nasir Shabeer Magloo, son of Shabeer Ahmad Magloo, resident of Qazibagh Thokarpora.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 301/2025 under sections 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Budgam, and further investigation is underway.
Budgam Police urge the public to extend cooperation in the fight against drug abuse by sharing information regarding any such illicit activities.
