Kupwara, October 19, KDC: In a significant step towards uplifting rural communities in Jammu and Kashmir, the Bharat CSR Network, led by its Chairman Dr. Sajid Saiyed, reached Dardpora Lolab in Kupwara district to launch a series of developmental projects under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The visit marked the beginning of a broader mission aimed at promoting sustainable development and empowering local communities through focused CSR interventions.

Dr. Sajid Saiyed was accompanied by a women’s delegation, Mohd Shafi, and Advocate Sajid Yousuf Shah, whose invitation brought the Bharat CSR Network team to Dardpora Lolab. During the visit, the delegation held detailed meetings with local stakeholders, including the district administration and Additional Commissioner Revenue (ACR), to identify key areas for collaboration and development.

The Bharat CSR Network team expressed appreciation for the support extended by the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, ACR Kupwara, SDM Lolab, Tehsildar Lalpora, and the District Police, acknowledging their cooperation in facilitating the visit and discussions.

During a press conference, Dr. Sajid announced several key CSR initiatives for Dardpora Lolab. These include the establishment of modern health centres in underserved areas to ensure access to quality healthcare for the local population, the introduction of AI Labs and digital classrooms to enhance digital literacy and innovation in schools, and the development of waste management facilities to improve cleanliness and environmental sustainability in the region.

He also revealed plans to implement water remediation projects to provide clean and safe drinking water and improve overall water sustainability. Additionally, training centres for self-help groups (SHGs) will be established to empower women and youth through vocational training and entrepreneurship opportunities, helping to strengthen the local economy.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Sajid reaffirmed Bharat CSR Network’s commitment to working closely with the local administration and community members to ensure that the initiatives bring tangible and lasting benefits. “We are here to change that by investing in projects that make a real difference in people’s lives,” he stated, emphasizing that the organisation’s goal is not just financial contribution but long-term partnership in development.

The CSR initiatives are expected to begin in phases later this year, with feasibility studies and community consultations already underway. Each project will be implemented with a focus on sustainability, community participation, and measurable social impact.

Advocate Sajid Yousuf Shah, while addressing the media, welcomed Bharat CSR Network and its chairman, Dr. Sajid Saiyed, along with his team, to Kupwara district for announcing CSR initiatives in the remote village of Lolab. He said the initiative reflects a genuine effort to bring corporate-led development to some of the most neglected regions of North Kashmir. (KDC)
