Srinagar, Oct 08, KDC: The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come into force in Nagrota Assembly Constituency of Jammu district and entire Budgam district with effect from October 6, following the announcement of elections.
As per the Election Commission’s guidelines, the MCC becomes applicable immediately in the district or area where the whole or any part of the Assembly constituency is going to polls.
Accordingly, the MCC is in effect in Nagrota—and not the entire Jammu district, as it houses the capital and a Municipal Corporation—and across the Budgam district, where elections are scheduled to take place. (KDC)
