SRINAGAR, Aug 27, KDC: Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested Mohammad Irfan Ganaie, Junior Engineer of the PDD posted at Pakherpora, Charar-i-Sharief, Budgam, along with two other employees, Abid Hussain Wani (Lineman) and Sajad Ahmad Mir (PDL), for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.

The action followed a written complaint alleging that the bribe was sought for relocating an HT line near the complainant’s house.

After discreet verification of the complaint, ACB laid a trap and caught the trio red-handed while taking the bribe.

Accordingly, an FIR number 17/2025 under sections 7 and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (Amended 2018) and section 61(2) BNS was registered at PS ACB Srinagar, and further investigation set into motion.
