Jammu, Aug 14, KDC: The All Jammu & Kashmir Patwar Association (AJKPA), led by UT President Ghulam Mohammad Sofi, on Thursday met the Financial Commissioner (FC) Revenue, Jammu & Kashmir, and presented a charter of demands through a formal memorandum.
During the meeting, Sofi handed over minutes of a recent meeting issued by Commissioner Secretary Revenue Rajiv Ranjan, highlighting that Patwaries had been directed to complete four major assignments within a single week — a directive he termed impractical. On learning that the directive came from the Commissioner Secretary, the FC Revenue immediately contacted him and fixed a follow-up meeting with the AJKPA delegation for August 18 to address the issue directly.
One of the key demands discussed was the rationalization of GQ Circles and Patwar Halqas. The FC Revenue expressed full support, acknowledging that rationalization would significantly ease workload pressures on Patwaries, and assured that the process would be completed in the shortest possible time.
The AJKPA expressed gratitude C Revenue for what it called a “patient and considerate hearing” and said it looked forward to concrete action on its demands. (KDC)
