Srinagar, Aug 14, KDC: Shopian Police has achieved a major milestone in the fight against cybercrime by recovering ₹20 lakh from cyber fraudsters during the current year and disbursing the amount to the rightful owners. The police also resolved over 250 social media and financial complaints in the same period.
In a post on X, the police said the achievement reinforces public trust and strengthens digital safety in the district. Officials credited the prompt action of cyber cell teams and increased public awareness for the successful resolution of these cases.
Police urged citizens to remain vigilant against online frauds and to report suspicious activities immediately to help curb cybercrime. (KDC)
