Srinagar, Aug 04: In a substantial relief to households with pending electricity dues, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has officially extended the Amnesty Scheme for Domestic Consumers–2022 till March 31, 2026.

According to Government Order No. 114-JKPDD of 2025, issued by the Power Development Department, the extension will be governed by the same terms and conditions previously outlined in Order No. 103-PDD of 2022 and Order No. 47-JKPDD of 2024. A notable addition to the revised scheme is a 100% waiver of interest and surcharge on outstanding electricity bills as of March 31, 2025.

The decision to extend the scheme was approved by the Council of Ministers via Decision No. 074/14/2025 dated July 29, and was formally notified today by the concerned department.

The Power Development Department has made it clear in the order that no further extension of the amnesty will be granted beyond March 31, 2026.
