SRINAGAR, June 18: Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has officially taken charge as the Secretary to the Government, Department of Science & Technology, Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on social media platform Facebook, he shared his vision to transform the department into a hub of innovation, sustainability, and community-driven progress.

Acknowledging that the department may not often make headlines, Dr Shahid stressed its untapped potential to shape the J&K’s future. He laid out key focus areas including development of mini hydro and solar power projects, establishment of model solar villages, promotion of grassroots innovation, and strengthening research and R&D linkages.
