Srinagar, Apr 08, KDC: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday chaired a high-level security meeting at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar, focusing on strengthening security measures in Jammu and Kashmir. Shah urged the complete eradication of terrorism from the region and called for zero infiltration across the border.

The meeting, attended by top officials from paramilitary forces, intelligence agencies, and senior security and administrative ranks, was held after Shah reviewed various ongoing developmental projects in J&K earlier in the day.

Present at the meeting were Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Northern Command GoC Lt. General Suchindra Kumar, Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Corps Commanders of 15, 16, and 9 Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, and top officials from BSF, CRPF, and other paramilitary forces.

Sources told Kashmir Dot Com that the Home Minister assessed the overall security and law and order situation, urging the forces to maintain complete coordination to eliminate any infiltration threats and ensure a zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism, particularly in the Jammu division.

Sources revealed that Shah expressed satisfaction with the operational capabilities of the security forces but stressed the need for continued vigilance and synergy among all agencies.

The Home Minister also took stock of security arrangements for the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra in the Union Territory. (KDC)
