SRINAGAR: Police in Ganderbal carried out multiple searches at various locations across the district today as part of an ongoing investigation into a case related to the proscribed organization Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH).

A police spokesperson said that the Government of India had declared TeH, an unlawful organization under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in December 2023.

“The searches were conducted in connection with Case FIR No. 02/2024 registered at Police Station Ganderbal under Sections 10 and 13 of the UAPA Act,” he said.

“During the searches, police teams raided the premises of several suspects associated with the banned outfit. The raids were conducted in multiple areas of the district including Shuhama, Duderhama, Saloora, Tulmulla, and Lar in Ganderbal. Incriminating materials were seized during the searches.”

“The ongoing investigation aims to dismantle the anti-national and separatist ecosystem by identifying and taking strict legal action against individuals involved in such activities. Ganderbal Police assures that legal proceedings will continue and any individuals found to be supporting or indulging in unlawful activities will face severe action as per law,” he added. (KDC)
