Srinagar, Feb 20, KDC: In a tragic accident a government school teacher died after being hit by a dumper in Budgam area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday.
According to officials, a dumper bearing registration number HR55AR 5574, driven by an unidentified person, struck Shaista, 47, wife of Fayaz Ahmad Dar, a resident of Housing Colony Ompora, Budgam. The victim, who was employed as a teacher, sustained critical injuries and was immediately rushed to District Hospital Budgam for treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries, sources said.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and launched an investigation to trace the driver of the vehicle, who reportedly fled the scene after the accident.
Meanwhile, locals have expressed concerns over reckless driving in the area and urged authorities to take strict measures to prevent such incidents in the future. (KDC)
