8-Member Committee to Finalize Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in J&K Assembly

SRINAGAR: Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Advocate Abdul Rahim Rather has constituted a committee to finalize the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Assembly.

According to an official notification issued in this regard, a copy of which lies with news agency Kashmir Dot Com, the Speaker will serve as the ex-officio chairman of the eight-member committee.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 363 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, I, Advocate Abdul Rahim Rather, Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, do hereby nominate the following Hon’ble Members of the Legislative Assembly to serve on the Rules Committee of which I shall be the Ex-officio chairman,” an official notification reads.

The nominated MLAs of the committee include, Mubarik Gul, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Saifullah Mir, Nizam-ud-din Bhat, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Hasnain Masoodi, Ranbir Singh Pathania, and Muzaffar Iqbal Khan.

“The committee shall finalize the draft Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly prior to the commencement of the ensuing Budget session,” the notification further reads. (KDC)
