SRINAGAR: A surprise search operation launched early this morning at Central Jail Srinagar, targeting the VIP block and the ladies’ jail barracks, is still underway.
“A team of 65 personnel from Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK), supported by 40 CISF officers, initiated the operation as part of routine security measures,” sources told the Srinagar-based news-gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com.
They stated that the search operation is ongoing, and further details, including a list of recovered items, will be provided upon its completion.
“The operation is aimed at maintaining security and preventing any unlawful activities within the high-security prison facility,” they added. (KDC)
