Anantnag, Nov 18: In a significant move against drug abuse, Anantnag Police have attached properties valued at ₹1.5 crore under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, according to a statement issued by the police.

The statement as per Kashmir Dot Com detailed that Police Station Mattan attached a residential house worth ₹80 lakh belonging to Afroz Ahmad Bhat of Khreibal, a habitual offender implicated in multiple NDPS cases.

Additionally, Police Station Srigufwara seized three commercial shops worth ₹70 lakh owned by Peer Asif Ahmad Shah and Peer Towseef Ahmad Shah of K Kalan, Srigufwara, both under investigation for their involvement in narcotics trafficking.

The actions, part of an ongoing anti-drug campaign, aim to dismantle networks promoting addiction and serve as a deterrent to those engaged in the illegal drug trade, the statement said.
