Srinagar: Reports of an alleged attack on the Vice-Chancellor of Kashmir University near Zakura on the outskirts of Srinagar last evening could not be substantiated, according to Srinagar Police. Police officials who investigated the site found no physical evidence, such as bullet marks, to support claims of the attack.
A top police officer told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that police teams were immediately dispatched to the scene and conducted a thorough search of the area. However, nothing corroborating the reported incident was discovered. Additionally, residents and officers stationed at a nearby police checkpoint reported hearing no gunfire, apart from rounds fired by security personnel accompanying the Vice-Chancellor.
