Srinagar, Dec 11: Inspector General of Police and General Officer Commanding of army’s Kilo Force chaired a joint meeting of security officers in Bandipora, a day after militants killed two policemen in the district of north Kashmir.
Srinagar, Dec 11: Inspector General of Police and General Officer Commanding of army’s Kilo Force chaired a joint meeting of security officers in Bandipora, a day after militants killed two policemen in the district of north Kashmir.
An official said that GOG Kilo Force Major General Sanjiv Singh Salaria visited Bandipora and inspected scene of the attack in which two policemen— Mohammad Sultan (SgCt) and constable Fayaz Ahmad were killed.
Later Inspector General of Police Kashmir zone Vijay Kumar, who is also in the Bandipora, took joint meeting of army, CRPF and police officers. The officers reviewed operational works and instructed field officers to generate specific inputs and enhance anti-militancy operations in district, the official said.
Based on CCTV footage and other evidence, the officer said that Saturday’s attack was carried by a “Pakistani militant” who came and fired upon driver and one PSO of SHO. However, the officer said that he couldn’t snatch weapon due to retaliation by the PSO.
IGP Kashmir said that a single Pakistani militant of Lashker-eToiba carried the attack. He said two OGWs have facilitated him. “ Further investigations are underway,” he added.
