Srinagar, Dec 31, KDC: In a bizarre move the authorities at University of Kashmir on Thursday cancelled the examination after distributing the papers among students as the candidates said that few children of influential families could not reach the centre today.

One of the students who appeared for the entrance examination of M. Phil Clinical Psychology told Kashmir Dot Com-(KDC) that he appeared for the exams at about 11:30 am and the examiners also distributed the question papers among the students but as per him examiners suddenly got the instructions from higher ups to stop the examination as some students couldn’t reach the centre and appear in the exam.

The candidates said that about 130 were to appear for the exam but nearly 90 were present at the venue.

Many of the aspirants had arrived from New Delhi and other states but were disappointed and shocked when the exams were stopped.

Some examiners told us that few candidates could not reach the exam centre because their flight was delayed or cancelled from Jammu.

The students asked how they would re-appear in the exams if the paper had already been leaked.

They alleged that it was done deliberately because the children of few influential and bureaucratic families from Jammu could not reach the exam centre today.

The students went to the Vice Chancellor’s office but could not get any response from the VC or his office.

The students have appealed to LG, who is chancellor of the KU to intervene in the matter and order inquiry into it. (KDC)
